NAUTICAL WEDDING AT ROSARIO RESORT ON ORCAS ISLAND

If you kinda squint your eyes, and use your imagination, you can look at a map of Orcas Island and see how it got its name. “Squiggly upside-down U-shaped rock” would probably have been my suggested name, but hey, no one asked me. Name aside, Orcas is maybe my favorite of all the San Juan Islands (although picking a favorite is a bit like choosing between coffee and beer … you can’t go wrong) and I’m always thrilled about photographing a wedding there.

M & D chose Rosario Resort as the site of their wedding, which was pretty perfect as Rosario is perched right above the water and marina. Arriving on their boat was fitting, as their wedding was a beautiful melding of the bride’s Mexican heritage (a post-ceremony mariachi parade? yes please!) and their love of the open water, brought to life with blue, blush tones, and white florals and design details.

Coordination and planning by the always awesome Holly-Kate & Company, with florals by Bash & Bloom, and paper goods by La Happy. Photographed on Kodak film, developed by State Film Lab.
